Bakkafrost and FSF Sign New Agreement Extending Sponsorship of the Men's National Football Team for Four More Years

Bakkafrost, the aquaculture company based in Glyvrar, has signed a new agreement with FSF (The Faroese Football Association), ensuring that the company will continue as the main sponsor of the Faroese men's national football team for another four years.

This partnership, which has already been in place for several years, confirms that Bakkafrost will remain the main sponsor of the men's national football team through 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028.

“We see great value in the Faroese national football team, which we also believe is an excellent representative for the Faroe Islands. Therefore, we wish to continue the good collaboration that has existed between the parties since 2012,” said Regin Jacobsen, CEO of Bakkafrost.

The Faroese Football Association (FSF) is also delighted with the new agreement with Bakkafrost.

“Bakkafrost is among the world’s leading aquaculture companies, headquartered in the Faroe Islands, and it is gratifying that a company like Bakkafrost sees development potential in the men’s national team while also wishing to support the tremendous work being done on and around the team,” said FSF President Christian Andreasen.

The Faroese men’s national team will soon begin preparations for the qualification matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Faroe Islands are placed in Group L, alongside France or Croatia, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, and Gibraltar. The first match will be played on Saturday, March 22, away against the Czech Republic.
